Idil Alpsoy is a Swedish mezzo soprano with roots in both Hungary and Turkey. Her unique voice forges the ambient colors of the cold North with the warm and expressive temper of the South.
The radiant stage present she possesses and her artistic integrity have led to collaborations with artists such as Per Tengstrand (SE/USA), Tommie Haglund (SE), Joachim Gustafsson (SE), Morten Ryelund (DK), Mames Babegenush (DK), Andreas Borregaard (DK), Gitta-Maria Sjöberg (DK/SE) and Christine Raft (DK) a.o.
She has performed in concert halls and theaters across countries including The Royal Danish Opera (DK), The Royal Theater (DK), The Black Diamond (DK), Copenhagen Opera Festival, Confidencen (SE), Gamla teatern Vadstena (SE) and is a member of the renowned ensemble Middle East Peace Orchestra.
This year she is premiering Erika in Jexper Holmens opera ''De Mørkeblå Lillakvinder i Villakvartererne'' during Klang Festival in Copenhagen. In 2020 she will perform Henrik Goldschmidt's songs from "Flugten" together with Dresden Staatskappelle in Dresden.
During her career she has sung multiple roles like Cherubino (Lenozze di Figaro), Arminda (La Fina Giradiniera), Sœur Mathilde (Dialogues des carmélites) Flora (La Traviata), Wellgunde (Das Rheingold), Waltraute (Götterdämmerung) and Carmen.
Mrs. Alpsoy has also collaborated with Teater Grob starring the play "Flygt" in 2018.
In 2016 Idil Alpsoy was selected to participate in Birgit Nilssons Associations Master Class. Earlier, she has attended master classes with Anne-Sofie von Otter, Bengt Forsberg, Helmut Deutsch, Andreas Schmidt, Monica Groop a.o. She earned her bachelor from the Royal Danish Academy of Music and her Masters of Music from Manhattan School of Music in NYC with Patricia McCaffrey.
